Jilin university is located in Changchun,the capital city of Jilin Province.JLU is a multidisciplinary extensive research university uder the direct jurisdiction of China Ministry of Education. It is sponsored by national projects such as Project “211”and “985”that aim ata the creation of international competitive universities. The present secretary of the Party committee of JLU is Professor Zhang Wenxian,a famous legis and the present president is Professor Zhou Qifeng, a famous chemist.They are leaded by center of the Party. JLU is a merge of six universities: the former Jilin University, Jilin university of technology, Norman Bethune Medical University, Changchun University of Science and technology ,Changchun college of Posts and Communications and University of Military Logistics. JLU offers disciplines that cover all of the twelve academic categories :philosophy,ecnomics, law, literature, education, history, science, engineering, agriculture, medicine, management, and military science. Presently the university has 129 undergraduate programs, first stage academic degree authorization programs,245 master’s degree programs, 143 doctoral programs, 27 postdoctoral programs, and 17 national key academic programs. The university has a large number of teachers. The number of faculty members is more than 6059, including 1128 professors , 833 doctoral advisors, and 18 members of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and / or Chinese academy of Engineering, 2 members of State Department Degree committee, 17 members of State Department Degree Committee academic appraisal group, 14 national standout young experts ,31 excellent talents of Ministry of Education span centuries,15 winners of national excellent youth fund, 2 top scientist of nation “973”project,and 14 scholars of Changjiang. JLU is one of the 22 universities initially constructing graduate college. Presently ,it has construct a full high level, high quality talent education system of bachelor-master-doctor. The current fulltime student enrollment is more than 63000, including about 17000 graduate students, and more than 700 abroad students and 18000 adult education students. The university has hundreds of modern laboratories, including 6 centers for humanities and social sciences, 5 national key laboratories, 8 Ministry of Education key laboratories, 15 craft departments open / key laboratories.
